Motivation is key to success, but it can be challenging to keep your motivation high at all times. We all go through stages in life when we just can’t seem to find the motivation to get things done. I’ve been feeling like this for the last couple of months, especially when it comes to studying. Finding your motivation back can be quite difficult, but to me it’s also very important, because if I don’t, I can’t keep up with all the things I like doing. At the moment I’m feeling a lot more motivated, partly because we started the new year, but also because I’ve found a few things that helped me out of feeling unmotivated. So whenever I fall back into this lack of motivation, there are a few things I do to help me get out of it.
Find someone that inspires you
This might sound weird, but looking at other people achieving things really motivates me to work on my own goals as well. This is why it really helps me personally to have a few people I really look up to. This can be anyone, from someone from your family or friends to a blogger or youtuber. It’s good to have someone to go to (either in real life or online) who gives you positive energy and makes you want to work harder.
Surround yourself by people with a positive mindset
This is a very important point for me when it comes to motivation as I’m affected quite easily by the people surrounding me. So whenever I need some extra motivation I surround myself with people who understand my goals and struggles and give me positive energy to do what I have to be doing. Not everyone has the same mindset, or same goals as you have, but finding people who do can really make a difference in motivation.
Use Pinterest as a source of inspiration
I honestly feel like Pinterest is a life saver. Whenever I feel uninspired I just have a look at my boards and immediately feel a lot better and more motivated. It’s quite strange how images can make you feel more motivated, but it really does work for me. If you don’t have a Pinterest account I would highly recommend getting one as it’s just an amazing source of inspiration. I have a few different boards on my account where I go to when I need that extra bit of motivation, like my studyinspo and girlboss board.
Remember why you started
Remembering why you’re doing the things you’re doing really helps with motivation as it brings back the reasons why you started in the first place. The goals you have aren’t here out of nowhere, there’s a reason why you have them. So whenever you feel unmotivated, remind yourself of these reasons.
Getting organized is really important because when my room is a mess, my mind is a mess. Cleaning up my room before starting your tasks makes me feel ready to work on my goals for that day. But getting organized when it comes to the actual tasks you need to do is also very important. This is why I always make sure to make a to-do list every single night for the next day. This way, when I wake up I know what to do and can immediately start with my tasks.
