If you’ve been following my blog, you probably already know that I love trying out new skincare products. I’ve struggled with my skin for years, and finding products that work for me can be quite challenging. I’m currently still trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t to create the perfect skincare routine for me. And I have to say, this takes a lot of time. My skin hasn’t been the best recently, so I thought it’s the perfect time to try out some new products. I’ve been wanting to try the skincare products from Pixi and The Ordinary for a very long time now, so I decided to place an order on ASOS to get some of their products. At the end of the blogpost I’ve added the links to all of the products from this haul, so if you’re interested in any of them, you can find them very easily with these links.
Pixi Glow Tonic
I think we’ve all heard about this one by now. It has been raved about so much in the beauty community, so I want to see for myself if it works for me too. This is an exfoliating toner, meaning it will stimulate cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion. It should be used after cleansing to balance the skin. It also claims to sooth, hydrate and refine the appearance of pores. All in all some great claims if you ask me. I’m excited to see if this products works as so many people swear by this.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2%
This products from the ordinary is a peeling formulation, meaning it will exfoliate the skin. It should reduce the signs of inflammation and sensitivity due to its Tasmanian pepperberry. The reviews on this products are amazing and apparently it makes your skin look a lot brighter, smoother and more even. I’ve also read it has helped some people with reducing their acne and scarring, which is the main reason why I’ve decided to pick this up.
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion
This product mainly claims to fight against signs of ageing. This sounds a bit crazy considering the fact that I’m only 19 years old, but I feel like you can never start too early with anti ageing and apparently it’s really good and important to use retinoids on your skin. Again, the reviews on this products are really good. A lot of people seem to see a difference in the texture of their skin (think about pores and little bumps) after using this. Many people also seem to like it because it’s not irritating and doesn’t cause break outs.
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
Rose Hip Seed Oil is known to be really good for acne prone skin due to the fact that it’s rich in vitamin A, E and linoleic acids. Because it’s an oil it moisturizes and hydrates the skin, but it does not clog the pores. But besides this, it’s helpful for numerous skin conditions. For example reducing wrinkles and fine lines, age spots and skin discolorations.
The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer
This products claims to be a matte, hydrating and blurring primer for makeup that looks higher in definition and adheres for longer. It can also be used as a normal hydrator to reduce the look of pores and imperfections. I’m excited to see if this products makes a difference in the way my makeup looks and lasts throughout the day. I normally never really use primers, because I haven’t found any that actually do something for me. So I’m curious to see if this one will be effective.
I’m super excited to be trying out all these new skincare products and I’m hoping they will improve my skin. I’ve actually really enjoyed the process of choosing all of the The Ordinary products as all of their products should be seen on their own. So these products are made for layering on top of each other to gain as much benefits from different ingredients as possible.
I’m going to try out these products for a while to see how they will work for me, and so I can create an honest opinion about them. Afterwards, I will definitely let you know on the blog how I like/dislike all these products. So stay tuned for that!
