MY 5 FAVORITE BEAUTY HACKS

As you all know, I love playing around with beauty products. I really enjoy putting on my makeup every single day and trying out new products every once in a while. Over the years I’ve learned a lot more about what I like and dislike when it comes to beauty products and the way in which I use them. I have a few favorite tips for how I apply my makeup and use my products that I use every single day and that really have been a huge game changer for me.

Using bronzer as eyeshadow

I always get quite a lot of compliments on the way I do my eyeshadow. And actually what I do is the easiest thing ever. I love really warm toned brown eyeshadow colors, so bronzers are perfect for creating this look. I have a few bronzers that I don’t really like to use for contouring and bronzing my face as I find them a bit too orange. But these are the perfect colors to use as eyeshadow. It creates a really natural look and I personally love the way it looks.

Use a moisturizer before applying makeup

This might seem like a very obvious thing to do, but the point is to have a good moisturizer that works well underneath makeup. Some moisturizers are just too heavy and thick to be worn underneath makeup and this makes it a lot more difficult to apply your makeup on top of it. I really recommend the Embryolisse cream as this is very moisturizing but also functions as a primer for your makeup. A lot of makeup artists use this cream on their clients, so that already says enough for me. Another one that I really like for wearing underneath makeup is the Origins Ginzing Moisturizer, as this one has a gel formula and absorbs into the skin very quickly.

Apply highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes

This little trick is one of my favorite things to do as it really opens up your eyes, makes them look less tired and makes them look a lot bigger. I like to use a really intense highlighter for doing this, for example the Becca highlighter in the shade Opal. You could also use a light shimmery eyeshadow color for this, but personally I like the look of highlighter a lot more.

Use a lipscrub before applying lipstick

I love wearing matte lipsticks, but when your lips are a bit dry already, matte lipsticks will not look as good. This is why I always make sure so scrub my lips as part of my morning skincare routine, so that they’re all nice and smooth when it’s time to apply my lipstick. I personally really love the Lush Popcorn lipscrub as it gets rid of all the dead skin and at the same time moisturizes the lips because it contains coconut oil.

Use an eyebrow gel

I used to never apply eyebrow gels as I always thought it wasn’t really necessary and didn’t do much for my eyebrows. However, I was completely wrong. Using an eyebrow gel after filling them in makes such a big difference as it makes the eyebrows look a lot more full. I have two favorites when it comes to eyebrow gels. The first one being the L’oreal Brow Artist, which is a really good drugstore product. And the second one being the Benefit Gimme Brow, if you want to go for a more high-end product.

So these are my 5 favorite tips and tricks when it comes to beauty and applying makeup. These have become part of my everyday routine and I hope they can be helpful for yours too!

Really good article. I will try the highlighter in the corner eye I love a healthy glow versus wearing tons of makeup. I would make my own lip scrub with brown sugar and honey, and water ,water, water. Beauty starts from the inside out!

That’s such a good idea! I completely agree with you, so many people forget to take care of their skin while it actually is so important to have a good base! xx
