I love reading motivational and inspiring books because they can be so empowering. Recently the book ‘babe you got this’ came out and when I saw it I immediately knew I had to read it. This book is all about being a #girlboss and contains advice from 23 successful woman. It’s all about motivating and inspiring woman with ambition to reach their own potential, follow their dreams and reach their goals. From girl with dreams to woman with success. Very interesting to me. I felt so inspired after reading this which is why I will share five things I’ve learned from this book, that stood out the most to me. So hopefully this will be helpful and motivating to you in some way!
1. It’s okay to not know exactly what you want career-wise
When looking at careers, there are so many options out there which makes it difficult to know for sure which one you will like the most and what will suit you the best. The best thing to do if you don’t know which path to take is to just try something and go for it. Without trying you will never know what you will love the most. Choose something that seems interesting to you and put a lot of work and time into it. This is the best way to find out if it’s actually something you love doing. And if you don’t love it, that’s okay too. You can always try something else, and you can keep trying until you find something you love. It’s all about trying and seeing where it will take you.
2. Talk about your dreams and goals
It’s really important to share your ideas, goals and dreams with the people around you. This way they can give you feedback and support when you need it. Talking about your dreams and goals can be very inspiring and will lead to new ideas. It’s a good way to spread the word about whatever it is that you’re doing. It can be very scary though, because there will always be people who won’t believe in your capabilities of reaching that big dream you have. But the most important thing is to believe in yourself. If you think you have an idea that can be successful, go for it, no matter what other people tell you.
3. It’s okay to be insecure sometimes, but it’s important to step out of your comfort zone and just do it
We all have those things we get nervous and anxious about and that’s okay. But do these things anyways! This way you will grow as a person and it makes you realize that you CAN do it if you put your mind to it. In the end it will boost your self confidence a lot. Take that one (difficult) step and get over it, even when you’re scared. If you don’t do it, nothing will change and you won’t get any further. You have to take action to achieve your goals, it won’t just happen by only thinking about it. And eventually you will get more comfortable doing the things you would typically get nervous about. Start seeing every time you’re stepping out of your comfort zone as a little victory which proves to yourself that you can do it. This will make it so much easier the next time.
4. Don’t give up too fast
This probably sounds very cliche but it’s so true. It’s so easy to give up when things get difficult. But there’s one thing for sure, if you give up you will never get where you want to be. So don’t! It’s all part of the process. Everyone will have difficulties on their way, but only the people who keep going and keep trying are the ones who will eventually succeed. Keep having faith in your dreams and goals even when things aren’t exactly going the way you want them to go. If you’re going to give up it will never happen.
5. Babe you got this
You can achieve anything you want if you work hard for it, be patient and have trust in yourself. Do your own thing and don’t worry too much about what other people think of you. It’s okay to be insecure, scared and to make mistakes sometimes. But don’t give up. Things will never go exactly the way you have planned them. Just follow the path it’s taking you and keep believing in yourself, because if you don’t, no one else will.
