I’ve been struggling with my skin for years now, so I’m always looking for new products that can benefit my skin. Lately my skin has cleared up quite a bit and I haven’t had much breakouts at all. It think I finally found some products that actually work for my skin and I will share them with you in this blogpost.
Just as some background information, I have combination skin which can be very oily but also can be dry in some spots. My skin is very acne-prone and it took me years to calm down my breakouts. This means that my skincare routine needs to consists of good cleansing products and moisturizing products that won’t breakout my skin.
PHILOSOPHY MICRODELIVERY EXFOLIATING FACIAL WASH
I use the microdelivery exfoliating facial wash every evening after I take off my makeup. This really gets rid of the last bits of makeup and leaves my skins super smooth and soft. I love that is’s not drying at all while still cleansing the skin very thoroughly.
Philosophy is one of my favorite brand when it comes to skincare. All the things I’ve tried from them are amazing products and never broke my skin out. So if you’re looking for new skincare brands definitely give Philosophy a try. It’s a bit more on the pricy side, but definitely worth it. Besides the Microdelivery exfoliating facial wash I also love their Purity cleanser and the Renewed Hope in a Jar Overnight Recharging & Refining Moisturizer (that’s a mouth full haha).
EMBRYOLISSE LAIT-CREME CONCENTRE
I use this moisturizer every morning after washing my face and before applying makeup. This moisturizer is very basic but it does the job very well. It’s the perfect moisturizer to wear underneath makeup as it almost has the same function as a primer. This is why a lot of professional makeup artists also use this moisturizer on their clients.
This moisturizer does not break out my skin, it keeps nourished and makes sure my makeup can be applied smoothly.
THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN E OVERNIGHT SERUM-IN-OIL
I used to never use oils or serums because I thought they wouldn’t be beneficial for my already oily skin. However I was completely wrong. Even though your skin is oily, it still needs moisture. It’s actually a very logical process. When you don’t moisturize your skin, your own skin will start to produce more oils to moisturize itself. But when you use some good moisturizing products your skins doesn’t have to produce these excess oils. So never forget to moisturize!
I really love this serum oil from The Body Shop as it’s not heavy at all. It has quite a thin consistency which makes it very easy to apply. I use this product every night after cleansing my skin. In the morning my skin looks a lot more fresh and bright.
ORIGINS OUT OF TROUBLE MASK
This is a 10 minute mask to rescue problem skin. I like to use this whenever my skin suffers from breakouts. This mask helps with clearing up the skin again and leaves the skin super clean. I use this around once a week in addition to my daily skincare routine.
Origins is one of my favorite brands for skincare products. Besides this mask I also love their GinZing line which consists of energizing and refreshing products for the skin.
CLARINS MISSION PERFECTION SERUM
I completely fell in love with this product after using a sample of it. I was so shocked after I used this product for the first time because it made my skin clear up so much after only one night. This serum is a dark spot corrector, it evens skin tone and it gives the skin a radiant glow. I use this serum every once in a while (especially when I’ve had breakouts) after I use the serum from The Body Shop. This serum is the most expensive skincare product I have in my routine, but it’s also the most effective. Definitely worth the expense if you’re looking for a good serum and want to invest in you skincare routine.
This is the first product I’ve tried from Clarins, but I really want to try more of their products since I love this serum so much.
So there you go, these are my 5 skincare favorites of the moment that have helped my skin out a lot. I do also use other products in my skincare routine but these are the products that really have made a difference in my skin.
